There is more than one way to be a Hindu
A community for families to explore Hinduism together through learning, celebration, and fun

Why The Hindu Collective?

We want our children to grow up with a meaningful connection to their Hindu identity and cultural heritage, not only through what they are taught, but through what they experience.
And we want that for ourselves too.
The Hindu Collective grew from a desire to create that space. A community where families can learn, celebrate, question and experience Hinduism together; building a deeper and more meaningful connection to our culture.
This is a community we build together, not one we simply attend.
For the community. By the community. Of the community.

Celebration
Celebrating and having fun is an integral part of our culture and how we come together as a community
Community
Built together. Every family can participate, contribute, and help shape what the Collective becomes
What We Stand For

Equality
We learn with and from one another, without a hierarchy of voices. Differences are valued, but no one voice counts more than another
Progressive
We embrace different perspectives and identities, reflecting the world we live in today
Curiosity
Questions are welcome. We explore, challenge ideas, and respectfully disagree

Bound by a Fixed Curriculum
There are no prescribed textbooks or single interpretation of Hinduism
Limited to only Religion
Not everything we do needs to have an explicitly religious purpose. Culture, community and simply spending time together matter too
A Religious Institution
We are a community, not a religious institution or traditional religious education program becomes
Affiliated with an Organization
We are independent and not affiliated with any particular Hindu organization or sampradaya
What We Are Not

Adults and children engage with a shared theme through age-appropriate sessions, then come together to exchange perspectives as families
We meet twice a month, October through May - once to learn and question, and once to experience and celebrate

Learning Together
How We Come Together

A celebration, a meal, an art workshop, a discussion, a museum visit, a movie, or simply families spending time together will all contribute to the community we hope to build
